Empowering Creativity through the Arts
Welcome to Sierra School of Performing Arts (SSPA), a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing exceptional theatrical education and performances for children, teens, and adults in northern Nevada. Since 2005, SSPA has been a haven for local artists to explore their creativity, hone their skills, and showcase their talents through various programs, classes, and productions.
Our mission is to foster a love for the performing arts while promoting inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA) in all aspects of our organization. We believe that talent and creativity are not bound by socioeconomic status, gender identity, physical ability, or any other social construct. SSPA is committed to nurturing a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
Our Services
SSPA offers a wide range of services and programs designed to engage, educate, and entertain the community:
1. Mainstage Productions: SSPA produces full-scale theatrical productions, featuring some of the best community actors in northern Nevada. Past productions include "The Addams Family" (2023), "Into the Woods" (2022), "Annie" (2021), and "Guys and Dolls" (2019).
2. Youth Productions: SSPA offers opportunities for young performers to shine in youth-focused productions, such as "The Little Mermaid" (2023) and "Peter Pan" (2022).
3. Classes and Workshops: SSPA provides various classes and workshops for students to develop their skills in musical theater, acting, and more. Our experienced teaching artists offer comprehensive training in a supportive and inclusive environment.
4. Summer Camps: SSPA's popular summer camps provide a fun and engaging way for students to learn about the performing arts, develop friendships, and build confidence.
5. Community Outreach: SSPA is committed to making the arts accessible to all. We offer various outreach programs and partnerships to bring the performing arts to underserved communities and individuals.
