Hotel Cape Charles is a unique lodging experience that combines the welcoming spirit of a small historic town with the natural beauty of its surroundings. Established in 2012, this 22-room boutique hotel is modern, approachable, and ever-evolving, located just three blocks from the expansive town beach. The hotel's building, constructed circa 1920, has a rich history as the McCarthy Hotel through the 1950s. Cape Charles thrived during this period, serving as the rail terminus of the New York, Pennsylvania, and Norfolk Railroad, and the terminal for the Little Creek-Cape Charles Ferry, offering passenger, commercial, and car ferry service across the Chesapeake Bay to Hampton Roads.

The Hotel Cape Charles opened its doors in 2012, following a two-year renovation, marking the beginning of an economic renaissance in Cape Charles. Since then, the hotel has welcomed travelers from approximately 200 countries and hosted over 72,000 guests. The hotel's success has contributed to the revitalization of the town, fostering a vibrant and thriving community.

Our Rooms

• Balcony rooms: These rooms feature a small private glass paneled balcony, offering sunshine and a perfect perch for wine and cheese and people watching on Mason Avenue. From $225
• Gallery rooms: Located on the second floor, these rooms provide simple, cozy luxury and a private outdoor seating area. From $205
• Courtyard rooms: These ground-level rooms open onto our 3,000 sq ft hardscaped courtyard, offering comfortable communal seating and eating areas. All ADA and pet-friendly rooms are in the Courtyard. From $205
• Loft rooms: If you prefer spacious accommodations, opt for a Loft room with an open floor plan, exposed brick walls, original heart-pine floors, spacious bathrooms, and a kitchen and seating area with comfortable leather sofas and chairs. From $225

All rooms include custom-designed furnishings and modern built-in fixtures, natural latex organic CozyPure mattresses & pillows, handmade in Norfolk VA, Apotheke bath products handmade in Brooklyn, lighted make-up mirror and blow dryer, iron and ironing board, mini-fridge with complimentary bottled water, Illy Espresso machines and pods, work desk and chair, fiber optic Internet (1G), bedside USB charging ports, and a 50" Samsung Smart TV.
