We (the Stanleys) are the proud new owners of this amazing place and are excited to be a part of the wedding industry. We are passionate about creating each couple's dream wedding day and providing a space to celebrate that has a cozy, country vibe. Molly has spent most of her life living in Maine near Sebago Lake, with some years spent living in Pennsylvania where Brian was born and raised. Through a dear mutual friend in PA we were introduced, not knowing what kind of adventure was ahead. Every day since then we have been best friends. Molly has a background in management and coordination, and previously worked as a floral designer and visual merchandiser. Brian has a background in entrepreneurship, and currently owns and operates his own business building custom vintage motorcycles. We are both artists, and pull our inspiration from spending time in nature whether it be through hiking, camping, gardening, kayaking, skiing or snowboarding - we love the outdoors!
The Barn's History
The Barn was originally built in the year 1830 in Oxford, Maine, and used to be a dairy farm and apple orchard owned by the Pratt family. In 2015, it was transformed into an idyllic wedding & special event venue. The 1830 Wedding Barn is a classic, New England gem set back off of Route 26, surrounded by historic Maine farmland. Inside of the barn you will see impressive hand hewn beams, original barnboard throughout the interior, repurposed original antiques like the hanging apple orchard ladders, hay-claw chandelier, and the Hebron Academy milk cooler. The barn's historic quality creates a unique experience for guests to celebrate any event. Outside of the barn you will see rolling hills, fields stretching to the edge of the woods, trees from the original apple orchard (which we still bake pies from!), and sunsets fading to the western side of the property. Guests are welcome to enjoy and explore the outside areas of the existing apple orchard and surrounding grounds.
Planning Your Big Day
Throughout the planning process, we will stay connected to make sure we can provide as much information and support as you need. We will go over your floor plan, table & chair set up, the ceremony site, decorations, vendors, and your timeline. We will also go over what an indoor ceremony would look like for your event, in the case of inclement weather. During the rehearsal, we will go over all of your details to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for you and your guests.
