Club History

Des Moines Golf & Country Club has a rich history dating back to 1897 when a group of locals gathered in a sporting goods store to explore the idea of building a golf course. Over the years, the club has moved locations, expanded its facilities, and hosted numerous prestigious golf tournaments. Today, we are proud to offer two 18-hole golf courses designed by Pete Dye, PlexiPave hard courts for tennis enthusiasts, a formal dining room with an award-winning wine list, and a pool pavilion perfect for family fun.
