The Rose Tree was established in 1988 by Dorothy Grandy and her husband, Colon Sr., as a joint retirement venture. The shop catered to both tourists and locals, offering a comfortable and welcoming environment. Dorothy, a long-time Currituck resident, had previously dedicated her life to caring for Currituck visitors, managing Caroland Farm and its hunting lodge. After transitioning to the Rose Tree, Dorothy maintained her unwavering determination and transformed the shop into a reflection of her taste and personality.
