Tri-County Excavating is a premier excavating company based in Harbor Springs, Michigan, proudly serving Northern Michigan since 1989. Our History

Founded in 1989 by Ben Sackrider, Tri-County Excavating has come a long way in establishing itself as a leader in the excavating industry. In 1996, Phillip Vandermus joined the company as an estimator and project engineer, and later became a partner in 2001. Under Phil's leadership, the company has grown to employ around 20 people, specializing in trucking, residential and commercial excavating, and seawalls.

Our Services

At Tri-County Excavating, we offer a wide range of services to cater to the diverse needs of our clients. Our residential services include home sites, septic systems, site development, water and sewer road building, land clearing, tree and stump removal, sand and gravel, top soil, and snow plowing. We also provide commercial services such as excavation, de-watering, municipality ponds, demolition, and helical piles/screw piles. Additionally, we specialize in seawalls, making us one of the only companies in the area to offer this service.
