From Root To Shoot is a premier gardening company that has been serving the Catskills region for over 25 years. We offer a wide range of services including gardening design, installation, and maintenance. Our team of experts, led by Melissa Bennett, a PhD in entomology, brings a unique perspective to gardening, balancing artistic vision with scientific understanding of biology and ecology.

Our Services

We design and install new landscapes, improve existing gardens, and restore neglected or forgotten gardens. Our services also include the design and installation of specialty gardens such as rock gardens, water gardens, butterfly gardens, fragrance gardens, herb gardens, cutting gardens, container gardens, patio planters, orchards, berry patches, and vegetable gardens. Additionally, we design and install exterior features like walls, fencing, patios, walkways, barbecues, fire pits, ponds, and garden sculpture and furniture.

Maintenance

Our maintenance services include regular or as-needed weeding, mulching, deadheading, fertilizing, spring and fall cleanup, and pruning for both fruit and ornamental shrubs and trees. We also offer seasonal services like houseplant/greenhouse maintenance, seasonal holiday decorations, and special events including weddings and family reunions.
