Our Journey Begins

In the early 1960s, Richard (Tex) and Pat Maina embarked on a new chapter in their lives, leaving Chicago to pursue their dream of owning and operating a cozy retreat in the serene landscapes of Wisconsin's Northwoods. Tragedy struck when a devastating fire ravaged their newly established resort. Undeterred, Tex, with his vast knowledge of construction, meticulously rebuilt their home using his impressive skills. This resilient spirit became the cornerstone of their future endeavors.

Expertise Through Generations

Tex's innate talent for woodworking evolved into a thriving business. With the help of his oldest son Dave, Maina Hardwoods transformed from a humble sawmill into a renowned manufacturer of premium hardwood flooring and paneling. Tragedy struck again when a devastating fire struck their planer building in 2001, but the Maina family showed their resilience by rebuilding and enhancing their capabilities. Their youngest son Steve joined the team, contributing his expertise to maintain the exceptional quality of their products.
