Founder Steve Miles started Miles Excavating in 1983 when he traded in one kind of horsepower for another. The former rodeo competitor sold his beloved quarter horse to buy his first backhoe, and a career in excavating was born. Many backhoes later, Miles Excavating has grown to a 200-employee firm, with a modern fleet of equipment, and a history of successful projects that exceed client expectations time after time, yet Steve Miles' hands-on involvement in the firm has not changed. He is still actively engaged in every project, serving as quality assurance manager, providing project estimates, meeting regularly with superintendents and foreman's, overseeing all projects, and running active projects as well. The firm has a superior track record of experience; a reputation for hiring highly qualified personnel; and is dedicated to owning state-of-the-art, environmentally responsible equipment; ensuring reliability and the highest quality of workmanship on every project.
