Captain John's Sport Fishing Center, the home of the Sunbeam Fleet, has been providing expertly guided fishing trips and memorable experiences for over 76 years. Established by Captain John, our family-owned and operated business has been proudly serving the community of Waterford, Connecticut for four generations.
Our Fleet
With three boats currently in operation, the Sunbeam Fleet is capable of accommodating groups ranging from 1 to 80 passengers. Each of our vessels is meticulously maintained and equipped with the latest marine navigational and communication technology to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
Our Services
We offer a variety of fishing trips and charters that cater to individuals, families, and corporate groups. Our fleet includes the Sunbeam VI, which carries up to 15 passengers, and the Grumpa, which can accommodate up to 15 passengers as well. Our boats are United States Coast Guard certified, and our captains and mates are experienced and knowledgeable about the fishing waters on the Sound.
Private Charters
Whether you're celebrating a special occasion, planning a corporate event, or simply wanting to spend quality time with family and friends, our private charters are the perfect solution. We offer customized trips tailored to your group's size, preferences, and experience levels. Public Fishing
Join us on one of our public fishing trips, where you'll have the opportunity to catch a variety of species, including bluefish, striped bass, and more. Our experienced captains and mates will guide you to the best fishing spots and provide expert tips and advice to help you reel in the big catch.
