When we walk into our serene Door County studio, which is housed in a fruit barn built in 1934, we look out our windows and see the natural beauty that inspires us and informs our shapes and glazes. Making beautiful pottery for people to use every day is our way of life and when our customers tell us they love using our pottery, that gives us joy. The stunning natural beauty of Door County, which is part of the southern end of the Niagara Escarpment in Wisconsin, sustains and supports us. There are so many elements to making handmade pottery; some of the most important are devotion to process and attention to detail.
ONE OF A KIND
For us, luxury is the combination of beauty, quality, and joy. We consider all of these elements when designing and making our products. With a commitment to craftsmanship and high-quality materials, husband-and-wife team John Dietrich and Diane McNeil have been creating handmade ceramic heirlooms from their rural Wisconsin studios since 1974. EBP can be found in national and international collections.
HANDCRAFTED
Today, they are still passionate about design and make dinnerware, serveware, accents, lighting, and ceramic art, that celebrates the tactile and aesthetic pleasures that come from filling your home with things that cultivate a sense of well-being. Their handcrafted stoneware pottery have been collected for decades by generations as they are both made to last and enjoy every day.

MADE IN SMALL BATCHES
Their distinctive pottery is created in their studio which is housed in a restored apple barn. All pieces are thrown or hand-built, dried, then bisque-fired, glazed, and fired again. In their studio, John and Diane embrace the perfectly imperfect variations that subtly impart movement, life, and individuality. Ellison Bay Pottery is proud to bring its distinct handcrafted quality and approachable ceramic art to your home and life.
