Welcome to Mom and Dad Money, where our mission is to help new parents take control of their finances and build a better future for their family. I'm Matt, the founder, and I'm here to share my story with you. When my wife and I found out we were expecting our first son, I was filled with a mix of emotions, including joy, fear, excitement, doubt, love, and confusion. Among these feelings, I had a significant amount of worry about making the right financial decisions for our family. Despite having a background in finance, I struggled to find the answers to questions like how much life insurance we needed, how to save for college, and how to manage our day-to-day expenses. This uncertainty was overwhelming, especially knowing that our child's future depended on these decisions.

I started Mom and Dad Money because I know what it's like to feel this anxiety and uncertainty. I wanted to create a space where other new parents could find honest, practical financial advice tailored to their unique situation. Since launching the site in 2013, I've worked with many families, using my personal experience as a dad and my professional background as a financial planner to help them navigate their financial decisions. My goal is to empower you with the knowledge and confidence to make the right choices for your family, so you can focus on the things that truly matter.
