Haig Klujian: Our Founder

Generations Rug Gallery is a family business that has been passed down through four generations. Haig Klujian, our current president and owner, was born into the rug industry. His great-great-uncle Klujian pioneered the rug trade in the late 1800s, opening one of the first rug shops in Chicago. Haig's father and uncle later opened Mathew Klujian & Sons in 1938, which remains open today.

Haig's interest in antiquities developed at an early age, despite the high-tech world that most entrepreneurs follow today. He spent summers working at the family's retail rug business and developed an interest in older pieces. Haig's curiosity led him to research on his own, traveling the world to view tens of thousands of area rugs.

His dedication and passion for rugs led him to become one of the elite insiders in the antique rug world. Haig brings his expertise and passion to our customers with Generations Rug Gallery. Our gallery offers a comfortable setting for design professionals to shop for hand-selected antiques and new decorative rugs.
