The Bakery District

Welcome to The Bakery District, where community connection and wellness are at the heart of everything we do. Our story began in 1921 as the Shipley Baking Company, producing a variety of wheat-based products for three generations. After being acquired by Flowers Foods in 1998, the production lines ceased operations in 2008, and the doors closed forever. The building sat vacant for nearly a decade until it was acquired by KMW Properties in 2019. Our vision was clear from the start: to revitalize the downtown area and create a vibrant hub centered around community connection.
