Wawawai Canyon Winery

At Wawawai Canyon Winery, we are a family-owned and operated vineyard and winery that is dedicated to providing high-quality wines and exceptional customer service. Our vineyard is the first commercial vineyard planted in Whitman County since the Prohibition era, and we are proud to be pioneers in the region's wine industry.

Our journey began in 1994, when we started with a test block of twelve different varietals. We hand-prune the vines, pick the grapes, crush and ferment the juice, and age and bottle the wine. Over the years, we have refined our techniques and expanded our vineyard to include Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc, and Rkatsiteli. We have also added Carmenere, Malbec, and Petit Verdot for blending purposes.

Our team is passionate about wine and dedicated to ensuring that every bottle that leaves our winery meets our high standards. Ben Moffett, our owner and winemaker, has a degree in Viticulture and Enology and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the winemaking process. David, our vineyard manager, spends countless hours in the vineyard and is always ready to share his knowledge with visitors. Stacia, who often greets customers in the tasting room, is happy to share stories about life in Wawawai and our sustainable grape-growing practices.
