Discover Rare Treasures at Village Lights Bookstore

At Village Lights Bookstore, we are passionate about providing a unique and personalized experience for book lovers. Our story began in 2008 as a brick-and-mortar shop in the heart of Madison, Indiana, where we offered a carefully curated selection of used and new books, out-of-print book searches, and a range of literary events.

Our Evolution

In 2024, we embarked on a new chapter, transitioning to a rare, antiquarian, and out-of-print book shop located on the second floor of our historic building. We still maintain a select inventory of higher quality new books, and we are proud members of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association of America (ABAA), the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB), the American Booksellers Association, and the Great Lakes Independent Booksellers Association.

Our Services

As a rare and antiquarian bookstore, we offer a wide range of services to cater to the needs of book collectors, dealers, and enthusiasts. Our services include:

  • Out-of-print and hard-to-find book searches
  • General book appraisals
  • Rare, antiquarian, and out-of-print book sales
  • New book sales, including digital gift cards and audio books
  • Bookbinding and repair services
  • Author events and poetry readings
  • A comfortable and spacious reading room with a beautiful 1897 Steinway grand piano
