Since 1986, I have been challenged to design and decorate cakes that meet all your desires and visions for that special day. From a grand wedding design to a 1st birthday, your events are made to be memorable. Whether it's a theme you've found or bringing your imagination to life, I'm honored to be a part of those memories. What We Do

Here at Liz's Cakes, I strive to give you the most show-stopping cake that not only is beautiful to the eye but is mouthwatering as well. I offer free consultations with tastings of both my signature buttercream and white chocolate based rolled fondant, along with 2 of the 5 basic cake flavors I offer. Additional flavors are available at an extra charge. Please call and make an appointment for your consultation today! I can be very flexible with times, but please keep in mind that Saturdays are busy with cakes and cake deliveries. Sundays are reserved for family time.

About Us

I have been decorating cakes since I first started baking professionally in 1985. Fresh out of high school, I took a job at a local restaurant as a baker. Decorating was intriguing and came naturally. I've done extensive reading and researching all types of decorating styles and keep current with the latest trends. With over 30 years of experience and a wonderful customer base, it was very hard to leave Kansas! Big changes. In late fall of 2017, we decided as a family to move out of state. A wonderful opportunity presented itself, and we took it! We have moved to Lanesboro, MN. A beautiful, quaint town full of nostalgia and warm, friendly people. We now own and operate a Cafe & Cakery called Home Sweet Home! We still offer all the homemade goodness of cake but also feature a cafe with breakfast served all day and a lunch buffet. Pie, cookies, rolls, and other goodies are available daily. Holidays, we feature special decorated cookies and candy. Special orders are recommended and appreciated!
