Our History

Our marina's rich history dates back to 1938, when Walter H. Mayer, Sr. began construction of "Pompeii Del Lago" - a Roman-style villa inspired by the ruins of Pompeii. The cornerstone of the property was inscribed "AS OUR DREAMS ARE, SUCH ARE WE." This cornerstone now resides in front of the present-day PHYC, serving as a reminder of our commitment to turning your dreams into reality.

At Prairie Harbor Yacht Club, we're dedicated to providing an unparalleled marina experience. Our private, gated facility on Lake Michigan offers a range of services and amenities, including:
