Celebrating 70 years of construction excellence, Petra Construction Corporation has a rich history that dates back to 1946 when Guido Petraiuolo, the founder, was honorably discharged from the United States Army. Initially, he pursued a career in the medical field as an X-ray technician, only to discover his true passion for building. After completing his carpentry apprenticeship under outstanding mentors, he decided to start his own company. In 1953, Guido Petraiuolo established Petra Construction Corporation, which over the years provided residential, light commercial, and architectural woodworking services in the greater New Haven area.

Throughout his career, Mr. Petraiuolo consistently demonstrated his aptitude for aesthetics and design, along with his enthusiasm for mentoring others. He had a remarkable work ethic and a deep-seated understanding of excellent customer service, with many of his customers becoming his closest friends. Many of those same qualities were passed on to his son and current owner, Guido Petra. As a youth, Mr. Petra worked alongside his father for many years, consistently choosing the job site over the playground. Following his graduation from college, he decided to follow in his father's footsteps and pursued a career in construction.
