Robertson Metal Recycling LLC is a family-owned and operated business that has been specializing in buying recyclable metals, construction demolition, and heavy equipment and used steel sales since its inception in 1981. Started as R&N Hide & Fur in Hettinger, ND, the business quickly expanded its operations to specialize in scrap metal. The Dickinson location was added in 2016, and the business became Robertson Metal Recycling LLC.

Our Story

Our story begins in 1981 when Reggie Robertson founded R&N Hide & Fur in Hettinger, ND. The business initially specialized in hides, fur, and scrap metal. In 1992, the business shifted its focus entirely to scrap metal and became R&N Scrap Metal. Over the years, we have grown and expanded our operations to include construction demolition, heavy equipment, and used steel sales. In 2016, the Dickinson location was added, and the business became Robertson Metal Recycling LLC.

Our team has extensive experience in the metal recycling industry and has worked on various projects, including coal shovels, drag lines, and coal mines in ND & MT, obsolete oil rigs, and minute men missile dismantle projects from September 1999 to October 2001. Our expertise and experience allow us to provide our clients with the best possible services and pricing.

We buy and sell scrap metal, including prepared iron, unprepared iron, tin, car bodies, car batteries, sheet aluminum, extrusion, aluminum cans, copper, insulated wire, brass, radiators, stainless steel, and auto batteries. We also sell sucker rod, and for pricing, please call us. We spend most of our time processing, but we do offer a customer-friendly yard, demolition, on-site recycling, roll-off boxes, and the ability to service on-site and remote locations.
