Fitzgibbon Woodworking

Fitzgibbon Woodworking is a custom cabinet and millwork shop owned and operated by John Fitzgibbon. We build fine cabinets and furniture for both residential and commercial applications. With over 40 years of experience, we have perfected the trade, offering a wide range of services from cabinet and furniture work to historical restorations. Located in LeClaire, Iowa, we serve customers across the Quad Cities area.

Services

We specialize in a variety of woodwork services including residential cabinets and furniture, commercial casework, staircases, artistic veneering, custom trim, carvings and turnings, and historical restorations. Our expertise includes designing and building custom cabinets for homes, creating commercial casework, restoring historical sites, crafting custom trim, and producing intricate carvings and turnings.

Residential Cabinets and Furniture

We can either design your cabinets or work from your plans and specifications to enhance the kitchen of your new or existing home. We offer a wide array of hardware and accessories to fit any taste and design. We also carry the entire line of Merillat cabinetry.

Commercial Casework

Our plastic laminated commercial casework is built with the same care and using many of the same techniques as our residential cabinets. We carry the full line of plastic laminate available on the market today.

Historic Restorations

One of our favorite specialties is historic restorations. We have worked on many historical homes and businesses in the Quad Cities area, including Quarters One on the Rock Island Arsenal and several homes in the Gold Coast area of Davenport, Iowa.

Custom Trim

We can match the design and specs of any trim brought to us. At Fitzgibbon, we custom grind our knives in-house to produce your trim at a reasonable cost. We have a library of over 500 knives that might match up to your piece and thus save the knife charge.

Staircases

We can build the entire staircase, including hand rails and balustrades, in-house and deliver it to your new home. We also can make the individual pieces and have them installed on site by your contractor. We have many handrail designs to choose from, or we can custom make one to match your own design.

Counter Tops

We carry all lines of plastic laminate, granite, quartz, and solid surface available on today's market. We teamed up with Surface Solutions of Waterloo, Iowa to produce our granite and quartz tops on the latest equipment, producing the finest tops at the best price available.

Carvings and Turnings

We can produce turnings for a variety of applications, from chair and table parts to porch columns. Our lathe capacities allow us to make turnings from inches up to ten feet long. Porch columns and bases are no problem, and we will copy any design you bring in. Possible applications include hand carved rosettes for your trim, corbels for your mantle, carvings on furniture, and ball and claw feet for chairs.
