Vita Vite Midtown

At Vita Vite, we are passionate about bringing people together through art and wine. Our unique concept combines a cozy atmosphere with a curated collection of southern art and goods from local artisans and vendors. Our goal is to create a welcoming space where individuals can unwind, appreciate fine art, and enjoy a glass of wine or craft beer.

Our Story

Vita Vite was founded by Lindsay Rice, a contemporary travel photographer, wine aficionado, and art enthusiast. Lindsay's artistic process began as a child, learning to value travel and cultural experiences with her family and exploring wines of the world in recent years. She cultivated her passion for art at Sweet Briar College, where she received a bachelor's degree in Art History and an Arts Management Certificate. She furthered her studies at Georgetown University, earning a master's degree in Art and Museum Studies.

As part of her program at Georgetown, Lindsay also spent a semester studying decorative art and design at Sotheby's Institute in London. Since then, she has worked in prestigious art galleries, owned a professional photography company, and managed an antique shop while interning in both nonprofit and for-profit galleries and museums. In addition, she earned a level one Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) sommelier certification from Johnson and Wales University.

Lindsay's travels across the globe sparked her vision for Vita Vite - Raleigh's beloved wine bar + art gallery - where her two passions for wine and art could intertwine. In 2015, she founded Vita Vite Downtown, followed by Vita Vite Midtown in 2018. Vita Vite has received accolades such as Best Wine Bar, Best Place to Grab a Glass of Wine, and Best Place for a Girls Night Out.

Our Art Gallery

At Vita Vite, we feature artwork from a variety of southern artists. Our main bar and art gallery allow customers to browse artwork from southern artists in a setting where they can visualize it in their homes. And if they find a piece that speaks to them, they can purchase it. We believe in showcasing local art and providing a platform for talented artists to showcase their work.

Meet the Artists

We are passionate about art and recognize the importance of providing a platform for local artists to shine. Our gallery presentations ensure each piece is framed with creative ambiance and shown in the best light. Our talented artists include Alice Houston Miles, who graduated from the University of the South with a Bachelor of Arts in U.S. History and earned her Master of Arts in Arts Administration from Savannah College of Art and Design.
