First Area Federal Credit Union is a distinguished financial institution that has been serving the Mifflin County community since 1961. Originally established as AVC Federal Credit Union, we expanded our membership eligibility to include anyone living or working in Mifflin County after the flood in 1972. Membership and Services

Anyone living or working in Mifflin County is eligible to join First Area Federal Credit Union, except for those who are eligible to join Standard Steel Employee Federal Credit Union. One of the many advantages of belonging to our credit union is the convenience of payroll deduction of savings. This feature allows members to easily save by automatically deducting a set amount from their paycheck and depositing it into their credit union account.

We offer a wide range of financial services that cater to our members' unique needs. Our savings accounts are insured up to $250,000.00 by NCUA, making them one of the most secure options for your money. Our dividend rates are competitive with other financial institutions, ensuring that you earn the best possible return on your savings.

We offer various loan options, including new and used vehicle loans, home equity loans, personal loans, and share secured loans. Our loan rates are all simple interest, making it easier for our members to manage their finances. Additionally, we offer a low-cost share draft account that functions similarly to a checking account, with no minimum balance requirement other than a $2.00 monthly service charge. This account also includes a monthly statement for easy tracking of your finances.

At First Area Federal Credit Union, we are excited to offer our members a VISA credit card with no annual fee and a 10.9% APR. We are also proud to announce the launch of our DX Mobile App, which allows our credit and debit card members to schedule credit card payments, report lost or stolen cards, dispute transactions, include travel notes, and view or download their credit card statements.
