Transforming Your Body, Enhancing Your Life.

Prime Time Preschool, located at 13980 Schavey Road, DeWitt, MI, 48820, is dedicated to providing your child with a positive and nurturing first school experience. We believe that the first step into education should be a stepping stone towards helping children develop essential skills and abilities that will prepare them for future learning tasks. Our program is carefully designed to foster a child's capacity to observe, question, and listen, while giving them an awareness of their own feelings and their right to express those feelings in an appropriate manner. We encourage positive self-esteem through independent decision-making, as we believe that children are capable of making choices as long as they consider the impact on people and things.

Prime Time Preschool: A Unique and Individualized Program

Our program offers an individualized approach to learning, preparing children to utilize their intellectual and creative abilities. One of the unique aspects of Prime Time Preschool is the low student-to-teacher ratio. Each class of 20 students is staffed by three caring and experienced teachers, allowing for an ongoing and consistent relationship with the children. This individualized approach ensures that each child receives the attention and guidance they need to thrive in a learning environment.

Effective Communication Between Parents and Staff

At Prime Time Preschool, we believe that effective communication between parents and staff is crucial. We accomplish this through parent-teacher conferences, monthly newsletters, and detailed activity calendars. We understand that parents are a child's first teacher, and we value the partnership that is formed through open and ongoing communication.

Our History: A Cooperative Effort for the Benefit of DeWitt-Area Families

Prime Time Preschool was established in 1992 and opened in the Fall of 1994. The co-founders of the preschool, Lynda Schoonover, Deb Kirchen, and Beth Cook, were inspired by the model of Sunshine House, a play-based preschool in Lansing. Recognizing the need for a quality preschool experience in the DeWitt area, they worked together to create a play-based preschool that would provide a nurturing and educational environment for young children. Redeemer United Methodist Church, which was beginning a building expansion project, was instrumental in housing the preschool, providing a cooperative effort between families, friends, and staff to ensure its long-standing success.

Prime Time Classes: Small Classes, Lots of Attention

We offer three different class schedules, each with no more than 20 students per class, allowing for individualized attention from our qualified and experienced teachers. Our daily schedule includes teacher-led large group activities, where new concepts related to the weekly theme are introduced, as well as instructional games that focus on developing essential skills such as graphing, sorting and classifying, problem-solving, and brainstorming. Our teachers set up activities that promote learning and exploration, allowing children to develop at their own pace.

At Prime Time Preschool, we recognize that children learn best through play and exploration, which is why we provide a supportive and nurturing environment. We value each child's unique qualities and believe that learning should be a joyful and exciting experience. We invite you to join our community of learners and become a part of the Prime Time Preschool family.
