Established in 1972, SCKEDD has been a trusted partner in the economic growth and prosperity of south-central Kansas. Our services include providing business loans, grants for communities, grants for housing renovation, grants for weatherization, and collaborating with donors to support our mission.

Our Story

For over five decades, SCKEDD has been committed to partnering with communities in south-central Kansas to advance economic growth and prosperity for all residents. We serve a diverse and distinctive region and promote regional strategies, partnerships, and solutions to strengthen the economic competitiveness and quality of life across the region. Our successful partnerships have resulted in the creation of new commercial opportunities, the financing of innovative community projects, and the enhancement of community housing to attract and support a skilled workforce.

What We Do

At SCKEDD, we offer a range of services aimed at supporting businesses and communities in south-central Kansas. Here is a brief overview of what we do:

*Small Business Loans*

SCKEDD provides crucial capital for Kansas entrepreneurs who are unable to gain traditional commercial loans in the State of Kansas. We work with both startup and existing businesses to ensure that Kansas entrepreneurs have access to capital. Our business loan options include SBA 504, SBA 7(a), Community Advantage, SBA Microloans, and Gap Financing using the Revolving Loan Fund.

*Weatherization Assistance*

SCKEDD's weatherization program helps eligible low-income households improve their residential energy efficiency and increase their energy savings.

*Community Grants*

SCKEDD's grants writing team partners with local communities to attain grants to improve the quality of life, attract new businesses, accelerate job growth, and encourage new private development.

*Housing Renovation Grants*

SCKEDD supports several counties, communities, and residents in south-central Kansas through housing renovation grants. These grants aim to improve the quality of housing and make them more energy-efficient.

*Community Development Grants*

SCKEDD supports several counties, communities, and residents in south-central Kansas through Community Development Grants. These grants aim to support community development projects, improve the quality of life, and encourage new private development.
