Our Story

The story of Woodsmith's Manufacturing began with John, a lineman with a passion for handcrafted furniture. Growing up, John would often cut cedar logs into hand-hewn cedar log beds and sell them to local furniture stores. It wasn't until 2008, when John and his wife Ceara received a sawmill from John's grandfather as a wedding gift, that John really began to appreciate the beauty of different species of wood. After building their dream home in 2015, John and Ceara came across Rick Smith from Woodsmith's Manufacturing, and a friendship was formed. Rick noticed John's woodworking tools and Ceara's drafting skills, and the three found a common interest in wood production and handcrafted design. In 2021, Woodsmith's was sold to Ware-Butler building supply, and John stayed on as General Manager to complete his vision of taking Woodsmith's to the next level.

Our Services

At Woodsmith's Manufacturing, we specialize in custom kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, using locally sourced materials to construct custom-built solid wood cabinetry. Our cabinetry has no height restrictions and no fillers needed, and we offer complete customization including spice racks, mixer lifts and more. We offer Shaker or Raised Panel door styles, and our construction standards include 3/4 Plywood Construction, Solid Rock Maple Dovetail Drawers, and No Fillers Needed. We are proud to offer one-piece kitchen islands ready for installation, and can match any paint or stain color including natural wood.

Our Showrooms

Woodsmith's Manufacturing furniture and cabinetry can be found at Ware-Butler Building Supply locations in Waterville, Madison (Rt. 201), Madison (Main St), and Livermore Falls. Our showrooms are open Monday through Friday from 7am to 5pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 12pm. Our knowledgeable staff are always on hand to answer any questions and help you find the perfect piece of furniture or cabinetry for your home.
