At Common Sense Pilates, we believe that exercise should be fun and engaging, not a chore. Our philosophy is centered on the idea that a strong, flexible body can lead to a more joyful life. We are committed to helping our clients achieve their fitness goals, no matter their age or physical condition.

As the owner and lead instructor of Common Sense Pilates, Lynn Kirschner brings over 30 years of experience in dance, choreography, and teaching to her practice. Lynn has a deep understanding of the human body and its movement, and she is passionate about using Pilates to help her clients achieve optimal health and wellness. Lynn has completed extensive training in Pilates, including the "Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training" program and certification as a breast cancer exercise specialist by the Pink Ribbon Program. She has also completed workshops on Pilates for dancers and has received three certifications from the Cooper Institute for Aerobics Research.

Lynn has a strong background in working with clients who have a variety of structural issues, particularly in the spine and shoulders. She has a keen understanding of the modifications needed to make Pilates accessible and beneficial to bodies that need it the most. Lynn has taught Pilates, ballet, jazz, modern dance, and physical fitness to students of all ages and abilities, from 3 to 83.

Our Services: Tailored Pilates Programs for Every Body

At Common Sense Pilates, we offer a range of Pilates services designed to meet the unique needs of each of our clients. Our services include:

  • Private Pilates Lessons: Our 55-minute private lessons are tailored to meet your individual needs and goals. We work with you to improve your core strength, flexibility, agility, and range of motion through a variety of mat and equipment exercises. Our private lessons are perfect for clients who are new to Pilates or who have specific physical needs or limitations.
  • Pilates Classes: We offer group Pilates classes for clients of all levels. Our classes are designed to be fun and engaging, with a focus on building community and supporting each other on our fitness journeys. Our classes are limited to small groups to ensure that each client receives personalized attention and feedback.
  • Pink Ribbon Program: Common Sense Pilates is proud to offer the Pink Ribbon Program, a Pilates-based exercise program designed specifically for breast cancer survivors. The Pink Ribbon Program helps clients regain strength, mobility, and flexibility after surgery and treatment, with a focus on healing the body and mind.
  • Specialist in Back and Mobility Issues: Lynn has a deep understanding of spine and shoulder problems and the modifications needed to achieve physical health. She specializes in working with clients who have back and mobility issues, helping them build strength, flexibility, and range of motion in a safe and supportive environment.
