Our History

E.H. Emery Electric Ltd. was founded in 1930 by Ernie Emery, who provided electrical system installations and maintenance to the Greater Victoria Area. Initially, the company focused on electrifying rural locations around Victoria that had never had electricity before. Over time, the company gained a reputation for quality service and began serving commercial and industrial clients. As the Victoria industrial base began to shrink, the company expanded its services to include infrastructure works such as roadway lighting, overhead and underground high voltage distribution systems, water pumping systems, and sewage pumps systems.

Today, we continue to focus on infrastructure-based electrical work, with the addition of an automation group that handles variable frequency drive, control panel construction, and SCADA system design, implementation, and commissioning. Shipboard electrical work also forms a significant part of our activities, from full refit of vessels to in-service support contracts.
