For over 105 years, the Haudenshield Funeral Home has been a beacon of comfort and support for families in the Tri-State area. Our commitment to providing the highest standards of ethical service has been unwavering, guided by our mission to serve all families with dignity and compassion. Our story begins in 1919, when our founder, Sydney Haudenshield, Sr., established our funeral home, which would eventually operate nine funeral homes in the region. Over the years, we've been pioneers in various innovations, including the introduction of the motorized hearse and the use of white funeral flags to ensure safety during funeral processions.

Our History

In the early 1920s, we offered an ambulance service to the local communities, a service we continued until federal regulations forced the closure of privately owned ambulance services in the early 1970s. Through the years, our family has remained dedicated to serving the community with the same level of care and compassion. After Sydney Haudenshield, Sr.'s passing in 1968, his son, Syd, Jr., took over the business, continuing the family tradition of providing personalized and dignified services. Upon Syd, Jr.'s passing in 1991, a third generation emerged, with Richard D. Krueger, a licensed funeral director and embalmer, leading the business affairs of our Cuba City location.

Our Staff

Today, we are proud to have a fourth generation involved in the business. Jillian L. Krueger, a licensed funeral director, embalmer, certified crematory operator, and licensed cosmetologist, carries on the family's tradition of serving the community with compassion and dignity. Our staff is dedicated to ensuring that every family who comes to us receives the highest level of care and support during their time of need.

Our Location

We proudly serve families in Belmont, Benton, Cuba City, Dickeyville, Dubuque, East Dubuque, Galena, Hazel Green, Kieler, Leadmine, Louisburg, New Diggings, Potosi, Shullsburg, Sinsinawa, and all surrounding communities. Our funeral home in Cuba City is equipped with an on-site crematory, featuring the newest thermal technology and energy-efficient retort. We are licensed in Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin, ensuring that we can serve families across the region with ease.
