I am dedicated to providing the highest quality guitar and bass instruction to students of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced players. With 25 years of teaching experience and 15 years of performing experience, I have the expertise and knowledge to help you achieve your musical goals.

I offer a variety of services, including guitar lessons, bass lessons, adult guitar lessons, and music instruction. My lessons are tailored to meet the individual needs and goals of each student, and I provide a customized lesson plan for every student. I offer 30, 45, or 60 minute lessons, and I teach both electric and acoustic guitar and bass. I teach a variety of music styles, including rock, blues, jazz, pop, funk, country, and classical.

In addition to my in-studio lessons, I also offer online and hybrid lessons, making it easy and convenient for students to learn from the comfort of their own homes. I serve all areas of Orange County, California, including Irvine, Newport Beach, Tustin, Rancho Santa Margarita, Anaheim Hills, Lake Forest, Laguna Hills, Costa Mesa, Foothill Ranch, Corona del Mar, Mission Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Aliso Viejo, and other surrounding areas.

• Guitar lessons: I offer 30, 45, or 60 minute guitar lessons for students of all ages and skill levels. I teach both electric and acoustic guitar, and I cover a variety of music styles.
• Bass lessons: I offer 30, 45, or 60 minute bass lessons for students of all ages and skill levels. I teach both electric and acoustic bass, and I cover a variety of music styles.
• Adult guitar lessons: I offer specialized guitar lessons for adult students who want to learn how to play the guitar. I understand the unique challenges that adult students face, and I provide a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
• Music instruction: I offer a range of music instruction services, including music theory, ear training, and composition. I can help you develop a strong musical foundation and achieve your musical goals.

Guitar Instruction Experience

I have 25 years of experience teaching individuals and groups. I have taught guitar classes at YAMAHA music center in Irvine and Laguna for 11 years through 2017. I have also performed music in clubs, casuals, as a solo performer, and in a jazz trio for 15 years. I have studied with some of the top teachers in California, including Jim Fagen, Erik Halbig, Jim Witzel, Ron Eshcete, and Carl Verheyen.

Beginning Level Guitar Students

In my experience, most beginning guitar students are surprised at how difficult the guitar can be to play. However, with the help of an instructor, you can quickly move past the frustration and start enjoying the guitar in the songs you love. During your lessons, you will learn the basic guitar chords, how to move from chord to chord smoothly, and how to use these chords to play your favorite songs. You will also learn how to read guitar notation, including tabs, chord grids, song books, and standard notation. These skills will last a lifetime!

Intermediate and Advanced Level Students

If you are an intermediate or advanced guitar student, you will be challenged to reach your full potential. During your lessons, you will learn technique drills, scale knowledge, advanced chords, improvisation tips, chop building, theory, reading, and composition. I will help you achieve a high level of musicianship and become the best guitar player you can be.
