Nolen Frisa Associates, PC, is a full-service structural engineering design firm dedicated to providing state-of-the-art structural analysis and design services. Our team of professionals, with an average of over 30 years of experience, has the expertise and knowledge to tackle a wide variety of projects including industrial, governmental, municipal, institutional, educational, residential, and commercial.

We are equipped with the latest technical support, including computer programs such as STAAD and Ram software, AutoCAD, Revit, and Microstation 2D/3D. Our extensive library of over 1,200 volumes allows our personnel to search into past design codes, specifications, and standard practices.

Our team is comprised of three professional engineers, two engineers-in-training, one staff engineer, three designers, and one administrative assistant. We are members of several professional and technical organizations including the American Society of Civil Engineers, National Trust for Historic Preservation, American Welding Society, Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute, Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute, Virginia Society of Professional Engineers, American Concrete Institute, International Code Council, American Institute of Steel Construction, National Fire Protection Association, American Society for Testing and Materials, National Society of Professional Engineers, and more.

Our experience enables us to tackle your analytical and design needs with a holistic approach. We provide a wide range of services including OSHA compliance, peer reviews, constructibility investigations, investigative letter reports, expert witness services, live load evaluations, 3D building analysis, material handling system rating, fall protection assessment, feasibility studies, load path analysis, value engineering, building evaluation, forensic emergency investigations, and equipment that enables our personnel.

We specialize in adaptive reuse buildings and additions, foundations, shoring, underpinning, and retaining walls, renovations, historic renovations, utility, community, and transportation structures rehabilitation, equipment supports, crane supports, monorails, and lifting devices.
