We are a dedicated team of experienced musicians, led by Jim Ellis, who specializes in guitar, bass, banjo, and ukulele lessons. With over 25 years of teaching experience, Jim has honed his skills to provide students with a comprehensive and engaging learning experience. Our goal is to make music education accessible and enjoyable for students of all ages and skill levels.

Our Services

At Hampstead Guitar Lessons, we offer a variety of services tailored to meet the unique needs and interests of our students. Our lessons are structured to help students improve their skills and learn new songs, while also focusing on fundamentals, riffs, and ongoing projects. We encourage students to suggest songs of interest and provide monthly worksheets, tablature, and chord/lyric song sheets. Students are also welcome to bring their own materials to work on during lessons.

We offer weekly lessons in 30, 45, and 60-minute sessions, with an average of four lessons per month. Our lesson policy is designed to ensure that students receive consistent, high-quality instruction. Regular attendance is important, and we maintain a shared attendance log to keep track of lessons. Students can enroll at any time and are responsible for attendance.

Our Team

Jim Ellis, our head instructor, has a wealth of experience and knowledge in the music industry. He has been teaching music for over 25 years, and has performed in a variety of settings, from local ensembles to international tours. Jim's dedication to his craft has led him to earn a Bachelor's degree in Music/Arts and a Master of Music degree from the University of Southern Maine. He is an active member of the Blue Moon Big Band and other local musical ensembles, bringing his passion for music to the community.
