Our experienced childcare provider and mother, Ms. Young, has been caring for children for over 25 years, with the goal of providing a stable, loving environment for every child that comes into her life. At Lighthouse Preschool and Daycare, we pride ourselves on creating a home-like atmosphere for your little ones, complete with safe, luxurious, and educational classrooms that cater specifically to their needs.

Our Services

At Lighthouse Preschool and Daycare, we offer a range of services designed to meet the unique needs of children at different stages of development. We understand that infants are unique individuals whose needs vary from moment to moment, and our experienced caregivers respond sensitively to each child's signals to provide consistent care. Our toddler program emphasizes learning through doing, with a range of activities designed to develop children's gifts and abilities.

Our preschool program promotes academic excellence and social skills, with hands-on, creative, and experiential activities that support the learning process. We recognize that school readiness is an essential part of a child's development, and our preschool program prepares children for kindergarten by teaching them colors, numbers, shapes, and other important skills.

In addition to our regular programs, we offer before and after school care for school-aged children, as well as nutritious meals and snacks, small group sizes, and a security system entrance. Our center is ideal for families in Carrollton, Suffolk, and those commuting to Newport News and Hampton.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum emphasizes early communication skills, with teachers communicating verbally and through non-verbal gestures, reading to infants and toddlers on a daily basis, singing songs, and modeling conversational skills. We also use picture books to build the association between sounds, objects, and words.

Our toddler program emphasizes learning through doing, with a range of activities designed to develop children's gifts and abilities. Our preschool program prepares children for kindergarten by teaching them important skills such as colors, numbers, and shapes.

Enrollment

We are currently enrolling children aged 6 weeks to 8 years in our programs. Our enrollment options include five, three, and two-day enrollment options, and we are open from 7 am - 5 pm, with extended care available Monday through Friday, year-round.
