Summer Camp

Leadership Program
Designed for 16-year-olds, this program transitions campers into junior counseling roles through Wilderness First Aid training, lifeguard certification, and staff mentorship. Participants lead activities, manage maintenance projects, and develop mentoring skills while experiencing greater responsibility in the camp community.
Wilderness Adventure
Selected 15-year-olds embark on an extended wilderness expedition focusing on advanced camping skills. This challenging program builds resilience through multi-day hiking, navigation, and survival training in Maine's remote landscapes, serving as a rite of passage for future camp leaders.
Family Camp

Head Counselor
Nick has served in multiple roles since joining as a camper in 1998. He teaches fourth-grade math in South Carolina while leading camp activities, combining education with outdoor mentorship.

What age groups do you serve?
We serve boys aged 7–16 with programs tailored to different developmental stages, including Cubs (7–12), regular campers (7–15), and leadership programs for 16-year-olds.
Is Birch Rock accredited?
Yes, we are an accredited member of the American Camp Association, meeting rigorous standards for safety, programming, and camper care since our founding.
How do you handle medical needs?
We maintain a 24/7 health lodge staffed by a nurse practitioner and EMTs. All medications are managed by trained professionals, with emergency care available at a nearby hospital 10 miles away.
What's included in the camp fee?
The fee covers all activities, accommodations, meals, and safety certifications. Additional costs apply for special programs like the Maine Wilderness Adventure.
How do you prepare campers for leadership roles?
Our Leadership Program trains 16-year-olds in Wilderness First Aid, lifeguarding, and mentorship. Participants assist counselors and lead activities, preparing for future staff roles.
Are visiting days allowed?
