College Drive Cafe

The College Drive Cafe is a true home-town establishment serving breakfast and lunch to the masses. Known by travelers and locals throughout the southwest, the College Drive Cafe is renowned for its authentic breakfast burritos, homemade biscuits and gravy, scrambles, omelets, and creative and delicious eggs benedict options. For those less adventurous, we offer staples like buttermilk pancakes, gluten-free pancakes, oatmeal, granola, and of course, our signature homefries. Whether you like green and red chilli, chorizo, or prefer your breakfast smothered in homemade gravy, the friendly staff at the College Drive Cafe is here for you!

History of the College Drive Cafe

Like many buildings in Durango, they have a long history and through time, developed their own unique character and story. The original building that houses The College Drive Cafe was built in 1939 and was originally a diesel engine service station and gas station. At the time, it was the only place to service a diesel engine in the Four Corners area. Because the location had a lot of potential, in 1969 it was remodeled, the kitchen was added, and became the Times Square Dinner Theater. Soon after this, the building was sold and renamed the Abbey Theater. In the 1970's the restaurant was renamed the Saturn Sandwich Shop. Several years later, the business changed hands again and became The Meeting Place, serving breakfast all day. The Meeting Place was sold in the 1990's and was renamed the College Drive Cafe. The current working-owners, Aaron Seitz and Leah Evers, purchased the College Drive Cafe in 2011. Today, Aaron and Leah work alongside the Cafe's shining staff and pride themselves on the healthy and hearty Southwest style breakfast and lunch entrees they serve.
