Seasoning Bistro

Located in the heart of Benton, Illinois, Seasoning Bistro is a casual yet sophisticated dining experience that offers a unique and delicious culinary experience. Our building, built in 1910, has a rich history, having been a hardware store, pool hall, and other local eateries over the years. We are proud to have been a part of the community for many years.

Our Story

Seasoning Bistro was founded in 2011 by Troy Ray and Katie Karcher, two local culinary students who saw an opportunity to bring a new level of dining to the area. We started out renting a previous facility, but after a few years, we were able to purchase the property and begin renovations. The process has been ongoing, with our focus on preserving the building's original charm while also making necessary improvements to ensure a comfortable dining experience for our guests.

Our Food

At Seasoning Bistro, we pride ourselves on serving the best quality food in the area. Our menu is carefully crafted to offer bold flavors, using only the freshest ingredients and time-tested cooking techniques. We never use additives or preservatives in our cooking, and our specials are always changing, inspired by seasonal ingredients and our own culinary journey. Our craft cocktail menu is small, seasonal, and available exclusively on Friday and Saturday nights. We also offer a selection of craft beer and wine.

Dining Experience

We offer two levels of dining at Seasoning Bistro. Our downstairs dining room features vintage pictures of locals on the original brick walls and wood ceiling. You may even spot Charlie Birger in a few of the photos! Upstairs, our dining room features an original tin ceiling, vintage-inspired lighting, and modern decor. Decor is always changing, so you never know what will be new from your last visit.

Reservations

We invite you to join us for a delicious meal at Seasoning Bistro. Reservations are highly recommended, especially on weekends and during holiday seasons. While we welcome walk-ins, we cannot guarantee seating availability without a reservation. If you have special requests, such as handicap accessible seating, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. Standard reservations are booked for an hour and a half time block, but we can accommodate extended reservations if available. For parties larger than 6, please call ahead to book your reservation.
