Seidokan Dojo is a proud member of RSKKR, the Ryukoku Seidokan Karate Kobudo Renmei, a traditional Japanese/Okinawan martial arts system dedicated to developing disciplined minds and strong bodies. Our martial arts academy offers comprehensive training in various disciplines, including karate, Aiki-jujutsu, and Kobudo, as well as sword techniques of the Samurai.

Our martial arts program is designed to cater to individuals of all ages and skill levels. It is a unique and challenging art form that requires open-minded students who are eager to develop strength, flexibility, and dexterity. The benefits of practicing Seidokan Dojo include:

Our Expert Instructors
Our head instructor, Hanshi Mike Holmes, has over 50 years of martial arts training and holds a Hanshi (Master Grade) Kyudan Hanshi 9th degree black belt and a menko (teaching certificate) from Japan. He has had the privilege and opportunity to train with and under such Masters as Keith James Master Sergeant USMC, US Navy Seal Jody Paul, Bruce Heilman, Ricardo Emerson (Puerto Rico), Boulahfa Mimoun Abdel-Lah (Spain), Joe Dilberto (NY), and Allen Tacket 9th degree Kyudan (CA).
Additionally, Hanshi Holmes has been trained by his Sensei, Col. Roy Jerry Hobbs USAF, founder and President of Kokusai Dentokan Bugei Renmei, Senior student Shigemitsu Tamaei, and Head Master Soke Shian Toma owner/founder of Seidokan Karate in Okinawa Japan.
Our Family-Oriented Learning Environment
Seidokan Dojo of Leland, located 5 miles south of Wilmington, NC, is a family-owned and operated business. Hanshi Mike Holmes, along with his wife Ruby, and son Sensei Brandon White, are excited to have the opportunity to make a real difference in the Brunswick County community. They provide martial arts training in a comfortable, learning environment that is suitable for the entire family.
Community Involvement
Hanshi Holmes also believes in being involved in his community. He is a member of the North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce, supports local sports, and participates in the Annual Leland Christmas Parade and Founders Day Festivals. Holmes is a member of First Baptist Church of Leland, has taught Sunday School, and been involved in outreach ministry. He worked for the Brunswick County Sheriff Department as a Deputy Sheriff.
