The Highlandtown Preschool

Located within the Breath of God Lutheran Church in Baltimore, Maryland, The Highlandtown Preschool is a high-quality early childhood education program serving children ages three to four years old. We are committed to providing a nurturing and engaging environment that fosters social, emotional, academic, and spiritual growth in each of our students.

Our Mission and Vision

Our mission is to provide high-quality and accessible early learning opportunities to economically and culturally diverse families in Southeast Baltimore. Through a play-based curriculum and a strong focus on community, our students develop the skills needed to successfully transition into kindergarten. Our vision is to help foster a Southeast Baltimore community where young learners from all backgrounds are prepared for success in school, where parents are informed and empowered to make educational decisions for their children, and where local residents and organizations work together to support families and students.

Our Program

At The Highlandtown Preschool, we believe that learning is a collaborative effort between teachers, students, and families. Our play-based curriculum is designed to encourage children to explore, create, and learn through hands-on experiences. Our experienced and trained teachers work closely with students to develop their social, emotional, and academic skills. Our classrooms are equipped with a variety of materials and equipment that support our play-based curriculum, from blocks and art supplies to music instruments and outdoor toys. We also have a secure and gated play area for outdoor play and exploration.
