Edgerton Family Martial Arts is more than just a training facility - we're a community dedicated to the art of self-discipline, respect, and personal growth through the practice of four distinguished martial arts: Taekwondo, Judo, Aikido, and Kendo. Our dojang, located upstairs in the Tri-County Community Center, is a formal training hall where students of all ages and skill levels can gather to conduct training, learn, and grow. We invite you to embark on a powerful journey of self-discovery with us and experience the difference by taking up our Free Trial offer.
Our Martial Arts Programs
Beyond fitness, our martial arts programs offer a richer, more meaningful way to exercise and spend quality time together as a family. Our programs are available Monday through Friday and are designed to meet the needs of our diverse community. Our classes cater to all age ranges and skill levels, from children to seniors, and our experienced instructors work with each student to help them achieve their goals.
Lion's Den Tae Kwon Do
Lion's Den Tae Kwon Do is a martial arts school that has been serving the Edgerton community since 2021. We offer programs for children to seniors that focus on taekwondo, self-defense, yoga, and fitness classes. Our family-owned school has been passed down through three generations, and we believe in helping our students develop self-confidence and learn lifelong skills. We're looking forward to partnering with consumers from Janesville, Milton, and Stoughton to continue offering a premier martial arts education experience.
Judo - Ages 6 and up, Teens and Adults
Judo is a modern grappling sport of unarmed combat that uses leverage to unbalance an opponent and take them to the ground. Students learn to throw and then pin or submit their partner once on the ground. Judo is practiced worldwide and is an Olympic sport. Our club is very active in local, regional, and national competitions, but participation is not required. We encourage all of our students to explore their potential in this exciting and challenging martial art.
Kendo - Teens and Adults
Kendo, which literally translates to "sword way, " is both a sport and a traditional martial art originating in Japan. Kendo uses bamboo swords and protective armor, and our club, sanctioned by the ALL US Kendo Federation, provides students the opportunity to participate in both local and regional seminars and tournaments. Kendo is an excellent way to develop focus, discipline, and physical fitness, all while learning an ancient martial art that has been passed down through the generations.
Aikido - Teens and Adults
Aikido is a modern form of self-defense that uses locks, holds, and throws. The guiding philosophy of Aikido is of working with another's force, not against it. Aikido is noncompetitive and works well for people of all sizes, as it does not rely on strength to overcome an opponent. Our experienced instructors work with each student to help them develop their skills and achieve their goals, all while learning valuable self-defense techniques that can be used in real-world situations.
