About Our Founder, Tara Blair

Tara Blair, the founder of Southern Paws Veterinary Clinic, grew up in Folkston, Georgia, and attended Charlton County Schools. After graduating from CCHS in 2000, she attended the University of Georgia, where she majored in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Animal Health. Tara then attended the University of Georgia Veterinary College, where she received an excellent education and made lifelong friends.

After graduating from veterinary school, Tara began her career in Brunswick, Georgia, where she worked in a clinic for small animals for the past nine years. Her goal has always been to open her own veterinary clinic in her hometown, and she's excited to finally make that dream a reality. Tara is passionate about giving back to her community and mentoring other aspiring veterinarians.

Tara's home is filled with various pets, including Tallulah, a Great Dane who is the inspiration for Tallulah's Tips, Satie, a yellow lab mix, Maggie Ann, a medium mixed breed, and Timber, a chocolate lab. She also has a cat named Stolley and three hermit crabs named Hermes, Louie (Vuitton), and Crowely. Tara's love for animals is evident in the care and attention she gives to her own pets, as well as those she treats at Southern Paws Veterinary Clinic.
