Sherid's Driving School

At Sherid's Driving School, we pride ourselves on being a family-owned and operated business with over 55 years of experience teaching the residents of Westmoreland County how to drive. Our team of certified, licensed, and private driving instructors are dedicated to providing professional instruction to make you a safe and confident driver. With a focus on defensive driving, we work one on one with our students, both teens and adults, offering positive support and patience in teaching all aspects of driving.

Our History

Sherid's Driving School was established in 1961 by "Moe" Sherid. John Sherid followed in his father's footsteps by serving 26 years with the PA State Police. After retiring from the PSP, he continues Moe's legacy in teaching driving lessons throughout Westmoreland County. We celebrate over 55 years of service, taking pride in sharing the road with our students.

Our Instructors

Our team of certified instructors are dedicated to providing professional instruction to make you a safe and confident driver. Our instructors are:

• John W. Sherid, Owner - a retired PA State Trooper with over 26 years of experience
• Malinda C. Sherid, Instructor and Administrative Assistant - certified instructor with over 10 years of experience
• Marcy Zajdel, Instructor - a retired school teacher with a passion for teaching students to be safe behind the wheel
• John Debich, Instructor - a retired school teacher with experience in working with students

What Sets Us Apart

At Sherid's Driving School, we pride ourselves on being community-oriented and dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of our students. We are an active member of the Pennsylvania Association of Professional Driving Schools and attend seminars to keep our instructors current with the challenges new drivers face on a daily basis. We also assist with various organizations, including the PA Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, Westmoreland Case Management & Supports, and more.
