Friends for Rescue and Pet Care, Inc. is a Non-Profit, 501(c)(3) Tax-Exempt organization dedicated to reducing companion animal overpopulation and improving their welfare in Delaware. Founded by a group of animal lovers concerned about pet overpopulation, we strive to create a better future for the four million animals that are euthanized in the U.S. shelters each year.

Our mission is to promote the concepts of the No-Kill philosophy and support No-Kill related activities, such as reducing companion animal overpopulation through education and support of spay/neuter initiatives. We believe that every companion animal deserves a happy and healthy life, and we are committed to making a difference in their lives.

We participate in the United Way of Delaware's Write-In program, allowing us to receive donations through the United Way. If you would like to designate your donation to us, you can write our book/code number (9522) on your workplace pledge form. We also provide grant application forms for non-profit organizations requesting spay/neuter funds, and we support fostering programs.

Our spay/neuter initiatives include Trap/Neuter/Return (T/N/R) programs for feral cats, pediatric sterilization of kittens and puppies prior to adoption, and High-Quality/High-Volume/Low-Cost Spay/Neuter (HQHVSN) clinics, as exemplified by The Humane Alliance in Asheville, North Carolina. We also encourage pro-active pet ownership, humane treatment of companion animals, and adoption from rescues and shelters.

Health Benefits

Your pet's health is in your hands. Spaying or neutering your pet is the first step in being a responsible pet guardian. Did you know that female cats spayed before their first heat are 200 times less likely to get breast cancer? Unaltered male dogs are much more likely to develop prostate problems and are 80% of dogs hit by cars. Neutering your pet not only reduces pet overpopulation but provides your beloved animal with a healthier future.

We are dedicated to educating pet owners about the health benefits of spay/neuter. Neutered animals are happier, healthier, and live longer. Millions of dogs and cats are euthanized annually, and neutering your pet can help reduce this number. If you live in Delaware, we can help you find a low-cost spay/neuter option to fit your budget.

Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Programs

We understand that cost can be a barrier to spay/neuter, which is why we provide a list of low-cost spay/neuter programs in Delaware. We encourage you to ask questions about your particular pet before purchasing certificates and to contact each listing for current programs and pricing. We are here to help you find the best option for your pet.

In addition to Delaware, we have a sister page, marvaspayneuter.info, that provides low-cost spay/neuter programs in Maryland and Virginia. We believe that every companion animal deserves a chance, and we are committed to helping you provide the best care for your pet.
