West Cecil Health Center was founded to bring high-quality healthcare close to home for families in our region. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, we deliver affordable, comprehensive medical, dental, optometry, behavioral health, and pharmacy services. Our goal is to be the trusted provider of choice for every family we serve. We operate as a Patient-Centered Medical Home, using a team-based approach that improves quality, reduces costs, and enhances patient experience. We collaborate with patients and their other providers to create personalized care plans rooted in respect, trust, and confidence. No one is turned away because of inability to pay; we offer a sliding fee scale based on household size and income.We accept most insurance plans, including Medicaid, Medicare, and CHIP, to broaden access. The center is a grantee of the Health Center Program under 42 U.S.C. 254b and its staff are deemed Federal employees under the Public Health Service Act. Our mission is to provide personal, accessible, and reliable care that strengthens the health of our community. West Cecil Health Center began as a grassroots effort by the Conowingo Lions Club, supported by local health partners and continues to grow to meet community needs.

Behavioral Health
Behavioral Health services include in-person and telehealth therapy and medication management for conditions such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. We provide individual, family, and group counseling, along with specialized approaches like CBT, trauma-focused therapy, and mindfulness-based practices. Our MAT/MOUD program combines medication with counseling to support recovery from substance use disorders.
Dental
Our dental team provides preventive care including exams, cleanings, sealants, and fluoride treatments to maintain oral health. Restorative services such as fillings, crowns, and dentures repair damaged teeth and restore function. We also offer emergency dental care for extractions, root canals, and other urgent needs.
Optometry
Our optometry department provides comprehensive eye exams using advanced instruments to assess vision and eye health. Services include medical eye exams, prescriptions, glaucoma and macular degeneration screenings, and OCT imaging. We also offer dry eye management, foreign body removal, and preoperative care for LASIK and cataract surgery.
Pharmacy
Our onsite pharmacy fills prescriptions for patients and the public, offering convenient access to medications. We provide a discount prescription program and dispense 340Beligible drugs to support affordable care. Patients can also receive assistance with insurance enrollment and medication affordability programs.
Primary Care
Primary care offers preventive services such as check-ups, immunizations, and screenings to maintain health and detect issues early. We diagnose and treat acute conditions like infections, minor injuries, flu, and strep throat. Chronic disease management includes medication and lifestyle support for asthma, diabetes, hypertension, and substance use disorders.
