Our founder, Kate, a Canadian native, moved to Golden, Colorado in 1986 to complete her Master's of Science degree in Economic Geology at the Colorado School of Mines. Shortly after moving to Colorado, Kate met a jeweler who became her teacher and mentor. After years of training, Kate left her career as a geologist to become a goldsmith. She loves incorporating geologically interesting gemstones into fluid, contemporary pieces that honor the vision of her clients.

With over twenty years of experience in creating custom pieces, Kate has had the privilege of learning about her clients' loves, families, and life stories. This human component is as important a part of the process to make each piece, as the metals and gemstones that go into them.
