Folsom Piano Academy has been providing students with the skills they need to enjoy music for a lifetime since 1996. Our mission is to make learning the piano a fun and enjoyable experience while also teaching valuable life skills such as perseverance, patience, attention to detail, confidence, and effective communication.
Our staff is comprised of dedicated teachers with advanced degrees in piano performance and pedagogy. We believe that collaboration and communication between teachers are essential to providing our students with the best experience possible. Our teachers work together to tailor their methods to meet the individual needs and learning styles of each student.

Music Teachers Association of California
Each of the private instructors at Folsom Piano Academy is a member of the Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC), which maintains high membership standards and enables our teachers to offer the Certificate of Merit program. The MTAC is a professional organization that provides its members with access to continuing education, professional development, and performance opportunities.
Our group instructors have either a Bachelor's Degree in piano and/or many years of playing/teaching experience, including extensive training with Jeanette. We are committed to providing our students with the best instruction possible, and our membership in the MTAC is a testament to our dedication to excellence.
Services Offered
At Folsom Piano Academy, we offer a variety of services to meet the needs of our students. We believe that music education should be accessible to everyone, regardless of age or experience level. That's why we offer a range of classes and lesson options to fit the needs of our students.
*Beginners*
Our small group classes for beginners are designed for students with no prior piano experience. Classes are limited to 3-5 students, which allows for individualized instruction and assignments to help students develop a firm foundation in music reading, theory, and playing skills. Classes are 50 minutes long and meet once a week. Once students reach an early-intermediate level, they have the option to move to private lessons with the approval of their teacher and the Director.
*Previous Experience*
Students with any prior piano or music experience are asked to contact us for an assessment with our Director. After the assessment, the Director will make recommendations on the best course of action for your student based on their needs. Private lessons are reserved for early-intermediate students through advanced.
*Teen/Adult Piano*
Students who are in 6th grade or older and have no prior music experience can join any ongoing Teen/Adult class. If a Teen and/or Adult has any prior music experience, please refer to "Previous Experience."
*Digital Pianos*
Full-sized digital pianos are available to rent for $40 a month for FPA students. These 88 Key, full-sized digital pianos simulate real "acoustic" pianos. They feature sampled grand piano sounds and weighted, hammer action keys, which allow students to learn how to control their sound and touch. Our flexible rental program enables families to apply rental credit towards the purchase of their own digital piano.
Piano Blast! - Summer Program
Piano Blast! is a fun, fast-paced approach to piano basics that is an excellent way to see if your child is ready for piano lessons. This program is designed for kids ages 6-10 and teens ages 11-16 and is a great opportunity to see if your child is ready for piano lessons. Class sizes are small, with a maximum of 5 students, and are led by a lead teacher and a teacher assistant. The program is one hour a day for one week, which is equivalent to six weeks of lessons. Offered throughout the summer, this program is a convenient and affordable way to introduce your child to the world of piano.
