Florida Rural Electric Credit Union

Florida Rural Electric Credit Union has a rich history of serving the financial needs of Florida's rural communities. Chartered in December 1975, our mission has always revolved around providing accessible and reliable financial services to the individuals and families served by Florida's Rural Electric Cooperatives. We pride ourselves on being a member-owned institution, meaning our decisions are guided by the best interests of our members, not by outside shareholders. Our commitment to our members' financial well-being is woven into the fabric of our organization and is reflected in every product and service we offer.

Our History

Initially operating within the Florida Electric Cooperatives Association, Inc. (FECA) building, Florida Rural Electric Credit Union was established as a supported entity of the Association's member services. Recognizing the growing needs of the cooperative community, in January 1999, the Credit Union transitioned to a fully self-supporting entity, operating independently while maintaining its strong connection to FECA and its dedicated membership.

Today, we continue to serve the 13 active cooperatives and one former FECA member cooperative that form the bedrock of our membership. These cooperatives work tirelessly to serve members across 52 of Florida's 67 counties, providing vital electricity resources and supporting the economic vitality of these rural communities.

Membership Eligibility

Joining Florida Rural Electric Credit Union is a straightforward process. Membership is open to a wide range of individuals and families:

• Past and Current Member Cooperative Entities of FECA: Any cooperative that has been or currently is a member of the Florida Electric Cooperatives Association, Inc. automatically qualifies for membership.

• Employees and Immediate Families: Individuals employed by the cooperatives and their immediate families are welcomed as members.

• Members and Immediate Families: Members of the cooperatives, including their immediate families, can also benefit from the exceptional services offered by our credit union.
