Build community. Cultivate health. Affordable acupuncture for all.
Welcome to Oakland Acupuncture Project, where our mission is to make Chinese Medicine accessible by providing affordable community-centered health care. We strive to make our services inclusive and accessible to everyone. Our goal is to help you achieve optimal health and wellness through individualized acupuncture treatments.
Our Services
We offer a variety of services tailored to meet your specific needs. Our treatments are performed in a quiet community space, and we charge on a sliding scale, ranging from $20 to $40 for follow-up visits. We believe in making health care affordable and accessible to all. Payments can be made by cash, check, or credit card, with a fee for credit card payments. For first-time appointments, we charge a flat rate of $45, which is paid at the time of booking.
What We Offer
Our services include community acupuncture treatments, which are individualized to address your specific health concerns. We use distal points, elbows and knees down, ears, and scalp, finding this method to be very effective for treating various conditions. We do not offer front and/or back treatments, as we believe our current setup is more fitting and comfortable for our community acupuncture environment. We also do not provide massages on tables or on the floor, preferring the comfort of recliners for our treatments. Private consultations are not offered for follow-up treatments, as we believe our short, in-hushed-voices interviews in the open group treatment room are sufficient for gathering the information needed for your treatment.
What We Don't Offer
We do not provide lifestyle or psychological counseling, focusing solely on providing efficient and high-quality acupuncture treatments. We also do not accept insurance, as we believe our sliding scale payment system is the best way to ensure accessibility to all. However, if you have out-of-network acupuncture coverage on your insurance plan, you can submit receipts for reimbursement. For herbal formulas or supplements, we recommend visiting local herbalists and herb shops, such as Draline Tong Herbs and The Herbal Ritual Apothecary.
Community Involvement
At Oakland Acupuncture Project, we are committed to building a strong community. We regularly host events and workshops focused on health and wellness, and we believe in the importance of community involvement. We welcome you to join our community and explore how we can work together to cultivate health and well-being.
