Our Story
The Barking Lot was founded in 2005 by Sue Towler, a dedicated animal lover and former US Air Force officer. With over 24 years of military service, Sue turned her passion for animals into a career by taking care of pets owned and abandoned. Our facility is licensed, bonded, and insured for two million dollars, and we have a 15 kW generator to ensure power is never lost. We are committed to providing top-notch care for your furry friends, and we strive to make you feel confident and comfortable leaving your pet in our hands.

At The Barking Lot, we do things differently. We offer flat rate pricing, complimentary exit baths, and food provided for our boarding guests. We also cater to dogs with complex medical conditions, providing specialized care and administering medication as needed. Our staff is dedicated to providing individualized attention and affection to each dog in our care.
Our Facility
Our North Riverside facility is designed to provide a safe and stimulating environment for dogs. We have a large play area, comfortable boarding suites, and a dedicated team of animal lovers who are passionate about providing top-notch care. We also have a 501c3 non-profit no-kill animal shelter called Kamp Kritter, dedicated to rescuing injured and abandoned dogs.
