5th Street Center For Dance

The 5th Street Center for Dance LLC is a dance institution located in Fairmont, WV, dedicated to providing the highest quality dance instruction to the community and its surrounding areas. Our center has been a home for dancers of all ages and levels, offering a variety of classes that cater to different interests and skill levels.

Our mission is to inspire creativity, build self-confidence, and provide a nurturing and disciplined environment where students can learn and grow as dancers. We are committed to fostering a love for dance, while also teaching the importance of teamwork, respect, and integrity.

Our Classes

At the 5th Street Center for Dance, we offer a wide range of classes for students of all ages and levels. Our classes include:

• Adults: All ages and levels are welcome to join our technique classes in jazz and tap.
• Baby Ballerinas: This class is designed for students aged 2.5 to 4 years old. It is a fun and interactive way to introduce young children to the world of dance.
• Ballet: Our ballet classes are designed for students aged 7 to 18 years old who have completed a year to two years of either our Primary Combination Class or are new to our studio.
• Contemporary: This class is designed for students aged 7 to 18 years old who have completed a year or two years of either our Primary Combination Class or are new to our studio. It is a fusion of ballet, modern, and jazz.
• Hip Hop: Our hip-hop classes are available for students aged 6 and up. It is a fun and recreational weekly class that does not require any prior dance experience.
• Jazz: Our jazz classes are designed for students aged 7 to 18 years old who have completed a year to two years of either our Primary Combination Class or are new to our studio.
• Primary Combination Class: This class is designed for students who have already completed our Baby Ballerinas Class for one to two years or are incoming beginners aged 5-7 years old.
• Tap: Our tap classes are available for students aged 5 years through 18. They are divided into levels from beginner to advanced.
• Turns & Jumps: This jazz class is available for students in Intermediate/Advanced levels jazz class.
• REFIT Classes: Available for all skill levels on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Every Body Belongs.
• Studio Rental Space: Our studio spaces are available for hourly rental for those looking to rehearse, conduct a practice, or create.

Our Facility

As part of our commitment to providing the best possible dance instruction, we have invested in state-of-the-art facilities to ensure the safety and comfort of our students. We are proud to announce that our two dance studios, covering over 2,000 sq. ft of dance space, will feature wood sprung floor panel systems, representing an investment of over $15,000. This feature is essential for the health and well-being of our dancers, providing optimal shock absorption and reducing the risk of injury.

Our Faculty

At the 5th Street Center for Dance, we are proud to have a team of experienced and dedicated instructors who are passionate about dance and committed to the success of our students. Our faculty includes:

• Shawna Gerau Santee, Owner/Artistic Director: With a wealth of experience as a dancer, instructor, and choreographer, Shawna leads our team with a clear vision and a passion for excellence.
• Brooklyn Moran, Instructor/Choreographer/Assistant Artistic Director: With extensive experience in teaching and choreography, Brooklyn is dedicated to helping each student reach their full potential.
• Lisa Johnson, Instructor: Lisa brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the studio, specializing in ballet and contemporary techniques.
• Heather Rollins, Studio Manager: As our studio manager, Heather ensures the smooth operation of our center, providing exceptional customer service and support to our students and their families.
