Our Services

We offer a wide range of services to cater to the diverse needs of our customers. Our commercial services include vendor lines, buy online, pick up in-store catalog, and departments that sell home supplies, Benjamin Moore paints, and more. We also provide resources for education and emergency preparedness. Additionally, we offer specialized services such as STIHL repair, parts, and service, circular blade sharpening, CDFW official hunting and fishing licenses, and lock and keying services. We pride ourselves on being able to accommodate special orders and cater to the unique needs of our customers.

Our History

Center Hardware & Supply Co., Inc. has a rich history that dates back to the 1880s. Our story began with two San Francisco hardware stores: PA Smith Hardware & Glass and Ocean View Hardware. PA Smith Hardware & Glass was founded in the 1880s by Peter A. Smith, who came to San Francisco in 1853. The store was originally located at 612 Fourth Street and primarily supplied products to the ship repair business in San Francisco. After the 1906 earthquake and fire destroyed the store, Peter rebuilt it at 638 4th Street. In 1946, Peter sold the store to Heinz Solbach, who renamed it Center Hardware. Over the years, the store has changed hands and expanded its services, but our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction has remained the same.
